Imagine what it must have been like 200 years ago. In order to have their message heard clearly, every preacher, evangelist and missionary either had to speak directly to people or write a letter—by hand, unless he had his very own personal printing press.
Look at the Apostle Paul whose letters are still motivating believers almost 2,000 years after they were written. But for many believers, how far could one individual voice go? To how many people could one person witness? In the last 150 years all of these answers changed. We have dozens of tools that help magnify the number of people we can reach.
Here are a few ways to help increase your impact
1. Incorporate a media ministry at your church.  Imagine if every Sunday each one of the members of your church took an audio copy of your sermon home with them. Then each of them gave the message to a friend or loved one who was not at the service. Hearts would be touched and lives would be changed—your church would grow. People would come into your church that would not have considered coming otherwise.  Churches have been known to double and triple in size aided by a media ministry.  We started making recordings of our sermons available after the service. As a result, our church tripled in size in just 2 years! We went from 25 people to more than 75 peo­ple! Thirty of these people were new salvations! Recorded messages really work! 2. Develop a God Stories program at your church.  Interview members of your congregation to find out how God has personally touched each of their lives. Take some of the most moving stories and record them as a tool to reach the lost. Christians need to be witnesses of what they have seen and heard. Too often the supernatural experiences that Christians experience stay in Christian circles. We need to record and distribute these stories so that others outside the church can be drawn in.  Dr. Steve Eremich (Dr. E) is the Pastor at Lake Anna Bible Church and he believes in the importance of reaching the lost. He asked church members to record their personal testimony on Tape and CD to share with others.  Lord, show me who I should give this message to!  Dr. E led the way by recording his testimony on CD and shared how Jesus rescued him from alcoholism. He included an invitation to church and to pray the sinner’s prayer. Dr. Eremich prayed, "Lord, show me specifically who is the first person I should give a message to." He says, "Just like that, the Lord showed me, it’s the young man who works at the grocery store, the one I always chat with about sports!"
3. First message shared leads to salvation!  Dr. Eremich shared a CD of that message with the young man named Justin at the grocery store. Two days later, Dr. E found out how gloriously faithful God had been! In the grocery store parking lot, Dr. E asked Justin what he thought about the CD. Justin shared this: "Powerful! Awesome! I prayed that sinner’s prayer with you!" Now Dr. E has the exciting opportunity to help this young man grow in the Lord!
4. Make sure your church has a high-quality website.  If your Web site is outdated, many people may think your church is outdated. Adobe Photoshop Lightroom is the new professional tool for photographers, which is geared towards organizing the large amounts of image data in any resolution or size, any RAW or common format, with editing and post production features. The first version of Adobe Photoshop Lightroom was released in January 2007, after a yearlong public beta testing period. The improved second version of Adobe Photoshop Lightroom became available in summer of 2008, with multiple additions to the already popular tool, like multiple monitor support and more flexible printing options. The response to the new edition was just as favorable as when it initially was released, the improvements were made with vocal input by the users and professionals alike. Adobe was always famous for providing expanding capabilities for all of their major software platforms, and Adobe Photoshop Lightroom is not different. There are several plug-ins which are already available for Adobe Photoshop Lightroom and are meant to help the photography professional with creating the final result they have envisioned. While effects and presets for color correction can be imported as well, plug-ins provide additional features which were not intended to be a part of the basic software solution. For instance, there is a plug-in, which creates slide shows directly out of Adobe Photoshop Lightroom, but in flash format, where also audio can be included; no flash programming capabilities are required. The DIMIN Slideshow plug-in for Adobe Photoshop Lightroom 2 was created by Dmitry Fedorov and is available as a free download on Adobe’s web site and DIMIN software website as well. According to the developer center of Adobe, only few things can be manipulated by an Adobe Photoshop Lightroom plug-in, and that would be the Export Functionality, Metadata and Web Engine Functionality. There is a downloadable Adobe Photoshop Lightroom 2 SDK - software developer kit - which is loaded with Lua-language files, the computer language which was used to write the source code for Adobe Photoshop Lightroom. The limitations to the extent of plug-in customization is deliberate, because Adobe is not willing to allow Adobe Photoshop Lightroom to expand into a behemoth like Photoshop, which is cluttered with additional functions, interfaces, filters and what not. The whole reason why Adobe Photoshop Lightroom was created was to simplify the workflow of professional photographers and allow them to export all the pictures they shoot and publish or sell them as fast as possible, in order to not spend too much time in front of the monitor screen. If a photographer likes to work in complicated environments, then there is Camera RAW, Adobe Bridge and Photoshop to keep them busy.
